1. What Do I Need To Get A Wireless Network From mBBh / mBBo?

Q. Can I be a mBBh / mBBo customer?
A. If you already BroadBand have at home or in your office, or you are getting it installed, and you have at least 2 computers you can be a mBBh / mBBo customer.

Even if you have just 1 laptop you can still benefit from a wireless network in your home or office as you can work without wires or ‘docking’ station.

Q. Do I have to have any particular make of computer for them all to work together?
A. No. Our service can connect together most types of desktops and laptops currently available including Macs and Windows PCs.

Q. How many computers can I have connected with mBBh / mBBo?
A. There are few technical limits to the number of devices you can connect to your wireless network if you are a home or small business user. If you are a business user your BroadBand provider may recommend that you take out a higher performance business package if you tell them you are planning to connect multiple computers. (Please discuss this with your BroadBand provider).

Q. Can a business use mBBh / mBBo?
A. Yes, we have a business package for Small businesses as well as home customers. A wireless network for BroadBand will benefit both home and office users.

Q. Will I still be able to use the phone if I have lots of computers connected at the same time?
A. Yes, there will be no impact on your ability to make or receive phone calls.

2. Understanding Wireless Networking Issues

Q. What is wireless networking?
A. Wireless networking uses radio transmitters that enable computers and peripheral devices such as printers to be connected together and linked to your BroadBand Internet connection without the need for any cables. This means that all your home of office can work online without holes in the ceiling, walls or floors!!

Q. Do I have to buy any wireless networking equipment first?
A. No, we will supply the necessary equipment. If you are still installing BroadBand please check with us to make sure your BroadBand supplier does not sell you unnecessary equipment!

Q. Is there any limit to how far away devices need to be from each other?
A. A wireless home or small office network will have a range of 150 metres from the transmitter and it will work on different floors and different rooms….. even in the garden!

3. General BroadBand Issues

Q. What is BroadBand?
A. BroadBand is a term to describe a permanent connection to the Internet that is always on and also provides response speeds that are up to 10 times faster than a normal dial up telephone link.

BroadBand services can differ technically from supplier to supplier but essentially you can think of it as a bigger ‘pipe’ connecting you to the Internet. Just like water, a bigger pipe delivers more water faster!

Q. Do I have to have any particular type of BroadBand to work best with mBBh / mBBo?
A. No. Our wireless network solutions work with any service from any BroadBand supplier.

Q. What if I am choosing a BroadBand supplier but don’t already have one?
A. We can help you make the choice, which will depend on factors such as your geographic location and the type of service you require. Some areas are only served by one or two BroadBand suppliers.

Q. Which is the best BroadBand service?
A. The best service for you will depend on where you live and what services you require.

Q. What happens if I can’t get BroadBand?
A. If you can’t get BroadBand in your area but can still get other high capacity links such as ISDN you can still be an mBBh / mBBo customer.

4. Sharing Printers, Scanners & Files

Q. Will I be able to access files on another computer?
A. Yes. A wireless network from mBBh / mBBo is not just about Internet access. It also enables any computer in your home or office to share other resources like printers or computer files… if this is what you want? This means that you can print out a document in your study… whilst working in your lounge!

Q. Can I share one printer or scanner between several computers?
A. Absolutely. mBBh / mBBo engineers will configure your devices so that you can share printers and scanners just like in a office.

5. Email & Internet Service Providers (ISPs)

Q. Will I still use my current Internet Service Provider (ISP) with my new BroadBand service?
A. It depends on the type of BroadBand service you subscribe to. Some offer connection only contracts which mean that you can still keep your existing ISP and email addresses.

6. Security & Safety

Q. Will a wireless network present any health issues or risks?
A. No. The wireless network works using simple radio waves…just like your stereo. It does not use microwave radiation like a mobile phone for instance

Q. Is a wireless network secure?
A. Yes. We will configure your wireless network to your own security requirements. This means that you can ensure that only certain computers can access the network and that all users have secure network ‘log on’ etc.

Q. What about Internet security?
A. We can configure an internet firewall and can advise and configure parental controls and ‘net nanny’ utilities if you are worried about unauthorised Internet access

7. Service & Support Issues

Q. What other services can you provide?
A. We can provide a range of on-site services to customers who are installing a wireless network from mBBh / mBBo.

Q. Do you supply computers, printers and other peripherals?
A. No. We only supply the wireless network devices as part of our service, but we can recommend different types of equipment on request

Q. Do you repair computers or fix any other problems?
A. No. We are mainly concerned with delivering the mBBh / mBBo service but we do offer other services.

Q. What after sales services do you offer?
A. When you buy our mBBh / mBBo service you will be asked to sign an acceptance that the service has been commissioned to your satisfaction. We will also supply a hand book to help you understand how to keep your mBBh / mBBo service running properly. If a call out is required we will make a call out charge which would be refunded or waived if the problem turns out to be our fault.

Q. Do you provide a support contract?
A. Yes, we offer a range of telephone support and on site call out support options. Please contact us for more information.
